The girl in the images is my little girl, a tender beauty only 6 years old. Her pretty porcelain face, fair complexion and red hair - a nightmare when it comes to UV damage Maybe I'm slightly more obsessed with her skin because of my career, but I feel its important that EVERYONE take note of the damage UVA and UVB rays cause.
I pride myself on teaching my little angel to apply her SPF50 every morning before school and on the weekends I have her dad trained to re-apply it every 2 hours, when I'm at work revising other skins and can't oversee her skincare regime!
This image was taken with the Observ520x skin scanner, with the first picture showing her skin in natural daylight. Then, to my horror, the UV damage sitting beneath the skin surface. Imagine, I have been as diligent as I can with protecting her from the sun. However, even us skin nerds get caught out. Our time in the Queensland climate for the first 3 years of her life may have exposed her to more chance of pigmentation, but even on the cloudy days I swear...
YOU NEED TO RE-APPLY your SPF!
