If you are experiencing breakouts (a.k.a spots, pimples, acne, blackheads) your skin is suffering a dysfunction. In other words, the little factory beneath the surface isn't working optimally. A large part of this dysfunction is connected to your hormones, lymphatic drainage & circulation. In an 'acne' prone skin there is an imbalance in these areas, a higher inflammatory response, poor immunity. The 'factory' is working fast, too fast, but off course faster isn't always better.
When all the little working cells are on high-speed this leads to trouble. Cells are turning over too quickly, oil is spilling up too soon, and getting stuck where it shouldn't. To the human eye, you see bumps & lumps on your skin, angry reddened pimples & papules (you know those big ones that kinda have their own heartbeat?).With acne breakouts there are a number of things to address. At the top of the list I want to work on improving the quality of oil in your skin and the water..."Hello Essential Fatty Acids".Now let's get the functionality back in order so things run smoothly, we need to eliminate the toxins that for some reason your system isn't draining properly & have a really good chat to your cells... "Hello Enzyme Therapy".No topical cream will change the quality of your inner factory. The skin will ONLY respond to chemistry it recognises. Also, let's look at stress. I can't emphasise how detrimental cortisol is on the body, the skin and its ability to function in a healthy way, at healthy speeds. And within the stress category falls diet. When you are a bit stressed, do you notice a pattern in your food choice? Do you reach for more coffee or sugar because you need a 'pick me up'? Food isn't the sole or direct cause of pimples, but there is a huge and strong link between your gut health & skin.
Unfortunately there is not just one single reason your skin is breaking bad. However, there is light at the end of the tunnel as I work paramedically with skin, i.e. I can help re-educate your little factory to behave!
